As part of the ongoing enhancement of BCIT’s programs to prepare our graduates for successful careers in International Business and Supply Chain Management, we are conducting a survey to gain insight into the needs of employers in British Columbia.
A critical part of the curriculum review process is collecting the perspective of the industries and sectors that the program serves. We need to understand what we do well, and where we can improve, in providing quality, relevant, and current career preparation for students. Your responses will be used to develop content that will generate graduates with the relevant skills and abilities that you value in your business.
Please help make this process a success by taking 10 minutes to complete this survey. We encourage you to add your comments in the spaces provided. Your responses to the survey are anonymous.
Thank you in advance for your time. It is greatly appreciated.

We have more applicants than available seats at the moment, but many of them are incomplete, so now is the time for your friends, family members, or work acquaintances to step to the front of the line if they meet the requirements. Please feel free to forward this message to others that may be considering a diploma from BCIT, especially if they have already applied to a School of Business program, and told the program they have applied into is already full.

The PMAC National Conference is Canada’s premier event for supply chain management professionals – and the largest of its kind. More than 500 of the country’s top procurement and supply chain management decision-makers gather once a year to learn the latest developments and best practices in the profession.
Through education and networking, this is the ultimate opportunity for PMAC members to gain a competitive advantage for their organizations and their careers in the changing marketplace.
2009 Conference
The 84th Annual PMAC National Conference will take place June 3 – 5, 2009, in Quebec City at the Hilton Quebec. Join us to learn how to make the difference in your organization while discovering Quebec’s history, culture and fine cuisine.
Quebec City was erected on the site of Cape Diamond, a strategic choice by its founder Samuel de Champlain to allow for both rapid growth and a strong defense for the city. Every day supply chain professionals make strategic choices, having a direct impact on the results of their organizations. They make the difference!
Quebec City, a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, is a unique city and, therefore, the ideal site to bring together those who make the difference.
Plan ahead to experience all that Quebec City has to offer. It will be an unforgettable conference experience!
New President and a New Year!
Earlier this fall, as we prepared for our latest AGM, Denise Becker decided to step down as President of the Vancouver APICS chapter, after serving many years in various roles including finance and of course chapter president. We are very pleased to report she will remain a part of the chapter management team as Past President, supporting your board of directors as we transition under new leadership.
Denise has put a tremendous amount of energy and effort into the chapter and it has been a personal pleasure to work closely and develop a friendship with Denise over the last three years. I would like to invite all our members to join the board of directors with a hearty and sincere Thank You Denise –– Your hard work is greatly appreciated!
Your Board of Directors are energized and full of enthusiasm for 2009 where we plan to engage ourselves with hosting the January Canadian District meeting in conjunction with the Fraser Valley chapter, launching a CSCP class at BCIT (heads up to all you BCIT Ops Man Grads with two years work experience), among many other initiatives –– more news to come.
On behalf of the board, I would like to thank all of our members for the opportunity to serve in 2008. The Board and I are interested in your comments, ideas and/or suggestions for the Chapter.
January 23 Eligibility Deadline: Complete your eligibility application today.
